This is a vintage blueprint of the windmill at Water Mill, the historic mill on NY 27 and Halsey Lane in Southampton, New York, built in 1800 at North Haven and then moved in 1813. It is a marvel of early 19th-century engineering, as this windmill is the smallest, and second oldest, of 11 surviving windmills on the South Fork of Long Island, which has the largest regional group of windmills in America. Of the local mills, it is the only example of the early type of smock mill, which had a stationary tower with a revolving cap that sat directly on a greased curb at the top of the tower.
This blueprint is characterized by white lines on a blue background, showing off the details of the windmill. This High-Quality Giclee Print comes with the correct measurements and the location of the windmill. It will be a perfect present for any history buff or an engineering aficionado.
