This impressive, black and white vintage drawing of the Brooklyn Bridge was handmade shortly after the bridge’s completion in 1883. It depicts the landmark suspension bridge, but also parts of the boroughs it connects, Manhattan and Brooklyn, divided by the East River. In a true manner of the bird’s eye panoramic maps popular in that era, this map exhibits incredible detail of the buildings, roads with their names, docks and even different ships traveling on the river. Since opening, the Brooklyn Bridge has become an icon of New York City, ranking among the city’s most popular tourist attractions, and will hence be wonderful wall decor that also holds a little bit of history on display. The composition is printed on fine art, off-white paper in giclee technique. The archival quality ink used guarantees it will not fade for a 100 years.
