Description
The fishing fly patterns displayed on this vintage print were first published in 1892, in an encyclopedic reference book named Favorite Flies and Their Histories, written by Mary Orvis Marbury, the daughter of the famous Charles F. Orvis, who pioneered selling fish tackle through mail-order in the USA. The fishing flies shown here are salmon flies, one of the most coveted fishing flies in the fly-fishing community.
At Vintage Print Gallery, we do our best to offer the most interesting, sophisticated and unique pieces of art to our loyal customers. While many of our offerings come from painstakingly collected antiques, such as hundreds of years old atlases, photo albums and herbariums, we have also gone a step further and now offer remastered pieces, as well as original art. Our original art takes inspiration from our existing catalog and builds on it. Our remastered pieces bring new colorways, sharper images and more intricate details from restored vintage works of art. Additionally, we also offer silver, gold and copper leaf enhanced art, with real metal applied to the prints.
