Description
In this vintage graphic print red sorrel grows over a wild landscape, where it naturally grows. This is one of the paintings from 1699 floral book, published by Dutch botanist Abraham Munting, well-known for his descriptions and illustration of European plants. In such prints, the plants were always named in Latin, and at that time the Latin name for a red sorrel was Lapathum Planum Paludosum. Red and green colors of the plant are framed by a beige wooden frame, accentuating its rustic simplicity. This wall décor will look exceptional on a wall of a rustic or traditional interior setting.
At Vintage Print Gallery, we do our best to offer the most interesting, sophisticated and unique pieces of art to our loyal customers. While many of our offerings come from painstakingly collected antiques, such as hundreds of years old atlases, photo albums and herbariums, we have also gone a step further and now offer remastered pieces, as well as original art. Our original art takes inspiration from our existing catalog and builds on it. Our remastered pieces bring new colorways, sharper images and more intricate details from restored vintage works of art. Additionally, we also offer silver, gold and copper leaf enhanced art, with real metal applied to the prints.
