Description
This piece of coastal wall decor, originally published in Edward Donovan’s “Naturalist Repository” in 1822, consists of a sea foam green and brown shell on an aged white background. This piece of luxurious wall decor was originally drawn as a scientific depiction of this shell, but our artists were inspired by the shell’s natural beauty and enhanced the original image by emphasizing the contrast between the hues of light blue and dark brown that make this shell so unique. This balance of contrasting colors brings together this piece of wall art in a way that makes it the perfect addition to any workspace or study.
At Vintage Print Gallery, we do our best to offer the most interesting, sophisticated and unique pieces of art to our loyal customers. While many of our offerings come from painstakingly collected antiques, such as hundreds of years old atlases, photo albums and herbariums, we have also gone a step further and now offer remastered pieces, as well as original art. Our original art takes inspiration from our existing catalog and builds on it. Our remastered pieces bring new colorways, sharper images and more intricate details from restored vintage works of art. Additionally, we also offer silver, gold and copper leaf enhanced art, with real metal applied to the prints.
