A wonderful bird’s eye view of the 19th century Chicago, Illinois, from above Lake Michigan with prominent features listed below the image. The original was sketched & drawn on stone by Parsons & Atwater and published by Currier & Ives in1874. Just a few years earlier, in 1871, the Great Chicago Fire destroyed a large section of the city, but the railroads and stockyards survived intact, while the rest of the buildings, that were initially made of wood, were reconstructed in steel and stone. This incredible work of art is finished in an exquisite two-color frame, to further enhance the overall look.
