Description
The overwhelmingly green composition showcases the Grand sylvain, or in Latin Limenitis populi, a butterfly that is very rarely seen in nature today. The poplar admiral is a protected species, which became endangered due to the clearing of forests containing the trees that they must feed on to survive. As such, this work of art will serve as a reminder of how much humans change nature, and how big the impact can be on the smallest of creatures. The composition also incorporates a bee, another insect that is immeasurably important for human life, yet negatively impacted by humans.
